Bermuda Bling! #EngagementMoon

Royal and I travel pretty often, and once we had Lyric aka Buddha, I wanted to make sure that didn't change. Lyric was born in March, and by May I was planning our first vacation. Yay!

As I was narrowing down places to go, I chuckled at my new research methods. Usually I'd search for 'hot spots for young couples', or 'cities with liveliest nightlife', or even 'furthest destination from NYC with a nonstop flight'. Now I was compulsively searching baby blogs trying to find the most baby friendly resorts, hotels that provide cribs, cities with kid friendly activities, and obviously the shortest flight possible. I went from wanting a room with a view, to a room with a crib. My how things change in a year. Ha.

After a lot of research, I decided on the beautiful island of Bermuda! Only 2 hrs flight time from NYC, it was a no brainer. Luckily for me, by the time the end of the summer rolled around, I'd already flown with Lyric a good 12 times, so I had our travel method down pat. (I'll tell you guys all about that later!) Needless to say, packing for this trip was very exciting. Do you know how cute baby swim suits and sunglasses and sandals are? lol. After making sure the future hubby had everything, we were off to the airport and on the way to paradise.

We decided to keep it light the first day. The hotel we stayed at had no elevators, so we had to climb way too many steps to get to our third floor room. I mentally slapped myself for not looking into that before we came, because my little Buddha was 5 months old and practically LIVED in her stroller. Carrying the stroller up the stairs each and every time we left the room just became a game to us....a cardio game. lol. We relaxed in the room for a bit, before heading out to the pool. After taking the obligatory million of pics of Buddha living it up on her first international beach, we grabbed dinner and then headed back to the room. I had just given the baby a bath and while drying her off, Royal offered to grab me her diaper and lotion. I say "Thanks Dear" (yes, that's our lingo lol) and I wait. I look up to see him fooling with the speaker to play some slow jams. I yell at him "Hurry up, Lyric's getting cold!" and then he quickly hands me the diaper and the lotion. I open the diaper and BAM, there is this gorgeous diamond ring! I was so shocked my mouth literally dropped open. I look back to Royal and he is on one knee.  He says a few sweet things and then asks "Will you marry me?". Umm...YES! Of course I will! =)

The rest of the trip is still a blur, since I spent most of it staring at my new ENGAGEMENT RING! Luckily I took a bunch of pics to remember our #EngagementMoon :) Check out more pics from our time in Bermuda!

FYI...as a self-proclaimed music head, I have a habit of assigning every moment in my life with a song. Literally hearing a certain song can take me back in time. For example, anytime I hear "Pass That Dutch" by Missy Elliott I'm transported back to my HS cheerleading days, practicing our dance moves in the cafeteria. Good times. Point is, with each one of my posts I'll share my song(s) that matches that exact moment in time. Hopefully you can vibe with me!

Really Love - D'Angelo
